Before the training course, I studied social work and learned the basics of human rights there.

During the training course, I have learned what the ``Compass`` and ``Compassito`` are, how to use them, and how to perform them in the best possible way.

In addition, I have met new cultures, and I have especially learned about the human rights that are violated in other countries, giving voice to those that are violated in mine.

With the knowledge I received, I want to educate the youngsters about human rights so that they know them and can grow with them.

My learning journey

Before I arrived here, I was worried about the project I would meet and how hard it would be. I was worried if my knowledge would be enough for the project. I was worried about getting there. While I was doing activities, I found out that human rights were in many forms, and each country handled them differently. And the trainers made us feel comfortable and made activities feel like games; they made sure that everyone got involved and that we were learning new information at the end of the session.

I feel that this project made me more aware of how different we are and how human rights are not respected in the same way.

In the future, I want to use what I learned here and apply it to my work field while also creating small projects for the youth in my community.

2.Very immersive activity about what was studied.

3. Working on activities with youth groups

Before the training course, I used to think Erasmus+ projects were boring and very formal. But since I came here, I think this project is the best organization in my life. In the future, I want to join so many Erasmus+ programs. During the training course, I had so much fun. The trainers were very enjoyable and friendly. Especially, Serdar Osman Dobur from Ankara Yenimahalle was very friendly. He is not like a trainer. He is a friend for me during the session. The beds, foods, and materials have good quality. Thanks for everything!

Taha Berk from TURKEY

Before the training course, I did not know that Erasmus programs were this good. I made very good friends during my education. I learned that there are human rights-related problems in many countries. I would like to participate in projects like this in the future. Being in an international environment made me feel good. It was a program where we learned a lot about human rights, and it was useful in terms of English practice.

I could find information about human rights on a website after long research, but I was not always sure about their truthfulness. I was not so well informed about human rights, but thanks to the volunteer center, I could enjoy this experience learning how to communicate about rights. Absolutely, fundamental. Working with other guys my age has been the best way to discuss issues in a peaceful environment. (I am more confident discussing this topic), and I am sure it will be an amazing growth process for the teens in my town when they will be able to participate in debates and playful lessons about what will make them more aware adults.

Ilaria from ITALIA

Before the training course, I had superficial knowledge about human rights, but actually, I had not thought about researching or working on it. During the training, I realized that in addition to my incomplete knowledge about human rights, there were also things I knew wrong. When it comes to human rights, I always thought it was theoretical information and boring things. But since we learned it for fun, the information has become more permanent. Also, I thought that human rights were violated only in my own country, but I realized that all countries in the world are experiencing the same problems. Thanks to what I learned and the experience I gained here, I will do more research and improve my knowledge on this subject. I also believe that this project will open the doors to different projects for me, and I will have the opportunity to improve myself.

My learning journey

Before arriving, I was optimistic that the training would proceed. I had all the information I needed. I expected the training course to be interactive, informative, and helpful.

What I did not expect was how great everything went. Not only did we learn new helpful lessons, but we also had fun doing it. The trainers had lots of patience and understanding, and the trainees were all eager to be here to release these experiences. Everything was clear and to the point, and the activities always added more nuance to the theme.

As for my plans for the future, I wish to communicate the things I have learned to the people I know and in the groups I am a member of.

My Learning Journey (Knowledge)

Before the training course, I knew ``Compass`` but I didn`t know there was such good information. I didn`t know much about human rights before, but I learned a lot during this course.

During the training course, Firstly, I didn`t know the Erasmus+ program was this good. I met new friends. I learned new information. I am really happy that I participated in this program.

Plans for the future with the knowledge I received;

I will start an internship and course at the Council of Europe this year related to human rights. I did not know much about human rights, but with that, I have learned here. I will be able to attend the internship or course comfortably at the Council of Europe. Thanks for everything.

Rauf from AZERBEIJAN

Before the training course, I actually didn`t know much about human rights, and I was happy to come here to learn.

During this project, I actually learned a lot. The whole information I received, I will totally use for people who don`t know about human rights.

My plans for the future are to use this whole information for good reason, and I hope that I will participate somewhere again and that I will need that information, and I will also teach everyone about that.

Germante from LITHUANIA

Before the training course, I was skeptical of my ability to comprehend information about human rights in the English language. I also had no prior knowledge about human rights before the course.

During the training course, I was pleasantly surprised with the level of the training course because, at that point, I was able to understand most of the situation and comprehend the information.

In the future, I plan to hold either a workshop or a discussion with the young people at the youth center at which I volunteer. Also, in the future, when a problem occurs, I will be able to use my newly gained knowledge and stand up for my rights.

Before coming to this place, I thought that I would be the same as if I knew.

During the training course, I learned a lot. I am still trying to learn more, and it made me understand what human rights are and what is important to me.

I don’t know if I will have to use this knowledge in the future, but I would really like to use it and share it with everyone.

Deimante from LITHUANIA

Before the training course, I didn`t exactly know about the ``Compass`` book. In addition, I didn`t know much about the subjects or key statements. Before the training, I didn`t have a lot of knowledge about the wider connection between human rights, active youth participation, and education. Before the training course, I didn`t know exactly what aspects of human rights were violated in different cultures.

During the training course, I expanded my knowledge base on various aspects of human rights. During the projects, I developed my presentation skills and other soft skills by doing team-building activities. Also, I learned more detailed information about the projects proposed by the European Council and the European Union. In addition, I learned more about the contents of the `Compass` book.

Plans for the future with the knowledge I received;

Maybe I will organize some projects about it for students at my university. Also, I can share my ideas and opinions with my friends about human rights education.

I can`t believe that the week of the exchange program has ended so quickly. It gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in the topic of `human rights`.

This exchange provided a huge amount of opportunities, thanks to which you not only learned a lot of information about the topic of the projects but also got to know many new cultures, people, the country of exchange, etc.

This project aimed to raise awareness and encourage HR activism around the world, and thanks to the participants from Spain, Lithuania, Turkey, Ukraine, Slovakia, and Azerbaijan, we were able to gain a lot of skills and knowledge in certain topics by working in groups and sharing our opinions.

Thanks to the organizers.

Internal relations background, including human rights. Work experience with vulnerable populations such as migrants, women`s, children`s, social leaders, and indigenous communities

I`d learned about different countries and the existence and use of `Compass` and `Compassito`.

Keep defending human rights because there are a lot of things to do, starting with educating the people about their national and international human rights challenges that most of them don`t know. Understand the main objectives of `Compassito` and `Compass` that should be comprehended from a human rights and educational background.

Sthefania from COLOMBIA

I have a low degree, so I already have knowledge about human rights.

I learned about the situation of the fulfillment of human rights in other countries thanks to the exchange of ideas with other participants. I got to know 'Compass', which could be effective with children if it is studied in a deeper way.

I will continue studying human rights and seeking information about the complementation of human rights in other countries.

Alicia from SPAIN

1. My learning journey before the training course

I have been studying the importance of human rights and human rights education in the youth field. Also, I did some short research on the historical outline of the history of human rights and determined milestones.

2. My learning journey during the training course

I have learned that human rights education is a vital tool to instill a culture of human rights. It helps young people to advocate for their rights. Moreover, I have learned to use the books `Compass` and 'Compassito', which introduce the core concepts of human rights. It helps implement human rights in daily life, increasing awareness of these concepts.

3. Plans for the future with the knowledge I received

I am aiming to conduct workshops on this topic, using the insights from `Compass` and `Compassito` to raise awareness and promote human rights.

Polina from the UKRAINE

At the beginning of the training course, I had general knowledge regarding human rights, but during the training course, I learned that our rights are indivisible, interrelated, and independent. Different human rights are intrinsically connected and cannot be viewed in isolation from each other. I learned that the enjoyment of many other rights and no one`s rights are more important than others' rights. With the knowledge and skills I have now, I will research human rights further, connect to human rights movements, vote in every election, protest for equality, and share my knowledge with my organization and friends (colleagues).

In the end, I want to thank you, Serdar and Zivile, for making this training possible. You were able to carry everyone along during the training and make it fun and mind-challenging! I feel better equipped for future challenges.

I also want to thank Furkan and Refik for their support, patience, and care.

Thank you, everyone!

Arigatou gozaimasu!

Georgiana from ROMANIA

Before coming to this training course, I had some experience in implementing activities with young people, but not so much experience in using tools like ``Compass`` and ``Compasito``.

During this project, I`ve got the chance to have a better understanding of using this kind of tool and have to implement it in my activities.

In the future, I will try to put all this knowledge to good use and use it for the future projects that I will take part in.

My Learning Journey (Knowledge Skills)

1. Before the training course

Before the training course, I received some knowledge about human rights from formal education (high school). Other than that, I also educated myself personally through articles, studies, and lessons that touched on the topic of human rights. I have been interested in this problem for quite some time, and in that way, I decided to broaden my horizons by participating in this training course. I think the information that I already had helped me to be a better participant in this Erasmus+ program.

2.During the training course

During the training course in Lithuania (Sirvintos), I tried to be the most humble participant. I would say that these activities mostly helped me put my knowledge into practice. It also helped to put the information that I always had and the new one that I acquired into a bigger perspective. This project also helped me with my public speaking abilities. I also had the opportunity to work with youth in a grammar school, which I really enjoyed, and it helped me make my career path a little bit clearer. I learned to work with the Council of Europe's ``Compass`` and ''Compasito'', and I received a lot of information about how I can participate in youth work after the project.

3.How will I use the knowledge that I gained from this training course?

I will plan to use the information that I learned from this workshop. I will organize a new workshop at my local high school using the knowledge that I have. I would say that the knowledge that I acquired during this project will help me a lot in the organization that I will plan.

Johanna from SLOVAKIA

My learning journey began after fulfilling the application for the project. As a high school student, my knowledge was strongly limited. I have been provided basic information previously. However, the `Lab of Human Rights` opened my eyes, and I became eager to learn more and more knowledge. Before the training course, I searched for some information on the internet and tried to select the important ones, but my expectation of the training was rather unclear. But as soon as it started, we were taught about the importance of human rights, contemporary problems regarding rights, and moreover, about informal learning methods and ways to teach youngsters about the topic with the use of the `Compass` manual, which I didn`t know before, and I find it very useful and meaningful. Thus, I will implement methods and activities from the manual in the workshops. I plan to organize and will surely recommend it to other youth educators and facilitators.

Adela from SLOVAKIA

Before the training course, I wasn't well educated about human rights. I just knew the basic information about it. I believe that I acquired a lot of information and knowledge thanks to the training course. I didn`t know that some human rights were also violated in European countries. I learned that many European countries don`t have free health care. I was surprised that in most European countries, some citizens don`t approve of LGBTQ+ communities, and they don`t have enough rights. Thanks to the training course, I met many people from different cultures. Also, I want to give my love and respect to trainers Serdar and Zivile. Also, I want to thank the volunteers, Refik and Furkan. They were helpful and caring, and they made us comfortable during the training course. Thanks to the knowledge that I received from this training course, I want to learn more about human rights. And I will do my research on it to improve myself. I will use this knowledge to transfer human rights to my future students by using `` Compass`` and ``Compasito`` books.
